High profile dignitaries, including the global President of the Divine Life Society (DLS) His Holiness Sri Swami Vimalananda; KwaZulu Natal Premier, Dr. Zweli Mkhize; King Goodwill Zwelithini KaBhekuZulu and IFP leader Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi; are expected to attend the unveiling of the Sivananda Peace Pillar, at the Shree Ganesha Temple, in Palmview Drive, Phoenix, this Friday at 10h30.

The four-ton, 3.5 metre high pillar inscribed with prayers from various religious groups, will be unveiled by Swami Vimalananda. One of eight to be installed throughout the country, the pillar is the initiative of businessman Ishwar Ramlutchman, who made a commitment to the late head of the DLS, Swami Sahajananda to undertake this project.

Said Ramlutchman: The pillars demonstrate that religion is universal when it comes to promoting peace and harmony in our country. It should be a source of inspiration and a reminder that peace and love should transcend our human limitations.
